The Faces of the Four Seasons: One-of-a-Kind Hand Carved Cedar Panels by Juneau, Alaska Artist, Aaron Elmore
This offering includes 4 carved and embellished faces carved from cedar and mounted on panels.
Each face represents one of the four seasons and each panel is signed by the artist, “Aaron Elmore 2001.”
My husband and I commissioned these custom panels from Alaska artist, Aaron Elmore, in 2000. They were originally intended to be butted up against each other and attached as a facade to our fireplace mantle, which was a boring piece of plain wood, but we sold that house before they were ever installed.
They could still easily be attached to an existing mantle – you would have the most unique mantle in the neighborhood!
The panels have graced our walls for over 20 years as individual wall hangings, but we have now reached a stage in our lives where we need to downsize and minimize our belongings.
Aaron J. Elmore is a southeast Alaska artist living in Juneau.
In my opinion, he is Juneau’s Renaissance man. He is so accomplished in most every artistic medium.
He is co-founder of the theatre troupe, Theatre in the Rough and also works full time for the Alaska State Museum.
He is a producer, director, writer, designer, actor, singer, musician, painter, sculptor, seamster and, yes, a fine carver.
It took Aaron over a year to source the perfect pieces cedar and allow them to dry naturally, rather than dry them with heat and risk them cracking.
Included in your purchase:
Spring:
Features a youthful face, Dogwood flower “hair” (a southeast Alaska tree that flowers each spring) and accented by copper studs
Summer:
A look of contentment in knowing who you are graces this face. The “hair” is blueberries, accented, naturally, by dark blue glass beads.
Note:
the only condition issue
with the entire set is that two of the glass beads are missing from this panel. These could be easily replaced using beads from a craft store.
See photo.
Autumn:
In the autumn of life, this face says “I know the score.”
The “hair” is comprised of round, plump wine grapes accented by copper wire tendrils.
Winter:
Wise old man winter shows that he’s been around the block many times! His “hair” is carved snowflakes accented by gun metal studs and embossed silver-tone discs.
Each rectangular panel measures: 24” L x 9” H
Each face measures 7”-8” W x approx.. 8” H
Depth of each piece, included the panel and the face, is approx.. 4” – 5” D.
The rectangular panels have been lightly stained but the cedar faces have been left alone to age naturally.
From smoke-free, pet-free home.
I ship only within the U.S. and all sales are final. No international shipping. No refunds.
I have more detail pictures. Message me and I will be glad to show you.
I ship fast – within 1 business day.
P
anels has been carefully wrapped and are ready to ship. FedEx is the least expensive at $39.00
If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, I've calculated the shipping at $115 (Priority Mail) so if you are serious about purchasing this art, contact me prior to clicking "Buy it Now" so we can discuss shipping and I can adjust accordingly.
Local pickup in San Antonio, TX is also possible.
